Na konci
listopadu bylo otevřeno další kolo soutěže
European Reggae Contest. Protože se jedná
již o 10. ročník soutěže organizátoři chtějí
ERC věnovat víc pozornosti než v minulých
letech. Registrace je
tedy možná již od konce listopadu do
6.ledna, do konce ledna by měli být
vybráni finalisté v jednotlivých zemích a
regionech a v březnu pak proběhnou
jednotlivá live finále...
Evropské finále Reggae Contestu
bude v dubnu, aby bylo dost času na přípravu
letního turné pro vítěze a akcí pro další
finalisty.
Partnery ERC v Čechách a na Slovensku
jsou festivaly Mighty Sounds, Sázavafest,
Uprising a nově také United Islands. Všechny
tyto festivaly garantují
místa pro lokálního a případně i evropského
vítěze ERC.
Hlavním evropským partnerem a
koordinátorem je stále italsko/španělský
festival Rototom Sunsplash, podruhé se
zapojí kolínský Summerjam, dále třeba Reggae
Geel, Reggae Sun Ska Festival z Frnacie a
mnoho dalších.
České kapely budou stejně jako loni
soutěžit v konkurenci kapel z celé střední
a východní Evropy. 3 nejlepší skupiny z
online kola se potkají ve finále 15.března v
pražském Crossu. Stále platí, že pro
registraci stačí 2 originální tracky, tak
doufáme, že české kapely pošlou do Evropy ty
nejlepší novinky, které za poslední období
nahrály. ERC letos reaguje na
nepřehlédnutelné trendy a nově je registrace
otevřena také pro
"singjays", tedy pro ty, co dělají
originální studiové věci, ale
nemají vlastní kapelu.
Je třeba připomenout, že poslední East
Europe finále v Crossu zažilo "invazi"
2 srbských reggae big bandů a IRIE FM z
Bělehradu jako vítěz zastupovali
náš region ve finále.
O postupujících v této soutěží
rozhoduje vždy především porota složená z
promotérů, novinářů a aktivních zkušených
muzikantů nebo DJs, která je od počátku
opravdu mezinárodní. Jak potrvdily minulé
ročníky soutěže, nerozhoduje jméno ani šíře
fanouškovské základny, ale jenom kvalita.
Takže pokud někde ve sklepě dříme nám všem
zcela neznámá kapela může se během velmi
krátké doby dostat až na evropskou scénu.

Rototom Sunsplash announces that
applications for the tenth edition of
the European Reggae Contest, the
competition that supports and promotes
the European reggae scene will open next
Monday, November 21. Divided into 6
European areas, bands from Europe will
have the possibility to apply until
January 6 for bands coming from all over
Europe.
The bands will be judged by
the audience and by six juries, made
up of over 50 professionals of the
international reggae scene. This way
the public will have the chance to
chose the best band online, on the
Contest webpage, between 10 and 31 of
January. At the end of February we
will announce the finalists.
The
prize for the European winner consists
in a tour in the best reggae festivals
of the continent, like SummerJam in
Germany, Reggae SunSka in France, and
Rototom Sunsplash in Spain. The
Contest prize includes more than 50
shows.
The tenth anniversary of
the European Reggae Contest arrives after its
most successful edition, that counted 278
bands participating from 23 different nations
and more than 80 partners including music
festivals, clubs and promoters. These numbers
confirm the contest as a big reggae community
but also as a great opportunity for theupcoming
reggae artists.Thanks to this
opportunity, the 2011 European winner, German
band Dub á la Pub, the French one, Dar-K and
Arkaya Music Band, and the Latin one, Livity
Songs, have performed at Rototom Sunsplash
2011.
Moreover, the Contest will
take place this year at the same time
also in Latin America, where the second
edition will be open not only to bands
coming from Argentina and Uruguay, but
also from Chile.
